Safehouse Payments
Relax! Your money is protected through Buildproof's proprietary "Safehouse" system.
This is what has been missing in home remodeling projects!
Unless you and your contractor happen to have a long standing personal relationship, the reality is that you don't really know one another. This makes the payment aspect of a home improvement project scary and risky for both parties. You need a trusted third-party to remove that anxiety. That's where the Buildproof Safehouse comes in. Buildproof ensures that the monies for a project are secure and worry-free, and protects the investment you are making in your home.
How does the Safehouse work?
- Homeowner and Contractor Agree to Terms
Both parties agree to terms of the project in their contract. These terms can include a description of the work to be done, start and end dates, specific directions and an outline of the payment installments. - Homeowner Deposits Funds in the Buildproof Safehouse
The Homeowner submits the funds to the Safehouse using an available payment option (see below). If the project is a small one, the deposit may be for the full amount. If it is a larger project, the deposit could be for a downpayment or a specific phase of work. - Contractor Starts Work
Upon deposit, the Contractor can now start work with confidence, knowing his payment is on account and COMMITTED TO THE PROJECT - meaning the homeowner can't pull the money back without mediation from Buildproof. - Contractor Completes Phases of a Project, Homeowner Reviews Work
The Contractor marks his progress using the Buildproof project management tools, showing the Homeowner how much of the work has been completed. The Homeowner then inspects the work to make sure it matches what the Contractor has described. - Homeowner Releases Funds and Pays Contractor
If the completed work satisfies the Homeowner, the Homeowner releases the amount of funds on account that correspond with that phase of work.
